OUR STORY
Where do we come from .. how did we get here.
It all began in South Africa, where Rayne was born and raised in Durban — grounded, calm, and with a heart for helping people. Lizzy came from the flatlands of the Netherlands, but South Africa had always tugged at her heart. She followed that pull many times before.
In 2007, our paths crossed in Crestholme — a small, misty village on the edge of the community. Life was simple, real, and full of possibilities. Rayne was running his chiropractic practice and ready for new adventures. Lizzy was doing community work and slowly finding her path in deeper healing.
Not long after, we moved to the Netherlands — where we lived for 13 years on a little farm tucked between the trees. That’s where our four children were born and spent their early years, wild and muddy and full of wonder.
Rayne built a successful chiropractic clinic, and Lizzy’s path deepened from physiotherapy to haptotherapy, and body-based emotional healing — often alongside her horses as wise, intuitive mirrors.
But Africa kept calling.

In 2022, the whisper became a roar — it was time to come home. So we packed up our life — four kids, a lot of dreams, a bit of chaos — and started looking for a place in the Midlands.
Then we found this place.
A rustic lodge wrapped in trees, stories, and silence. A wedding venue with potential and charm. A place with soul. We fell in love instantly.

We were searching for a home connected with nature — not a venue, not a lodge. Just a place where we could live simply and close to the land.
But back on our little farm in the Netherlands, we had already been creating space for others — hosting space for soulful workshops and healing retreats in our simple forest tent, tucked between the trees. And just before we left Holland, we organized and celebrated our own amazing steampunk wedding — with vintage decor, top hats, and goggles. That’s when it clicked: WE COULD DO THIS!
Not just host events, like weddings, but hold space. Not just offer a venue, but offer a feeling — of coming home, of being held, of reconnecting.

Now, we live close to the land with our new herd of horses and a growing love for eco-living. We’re blending our backgrounds in healing and bodywork with this powerful natural space… And we’re opening our gates to people who need a place to breathe, celebrate, connect, or simply BE.

This is our home — and we’d love to share it with you.
